Quantcast Provides Sites With Best Info
By MoonDog | July 16, 2008
Many site owners are interested in knowing where they stand among other sites, particularly those that relate to their primary focus. I’ve got my site listed with Alexa and Compete but neither of them compare to the statistics and additional information you get from Quantcast.
Quantcast offers site owners nearly real-time information about their traffic, including demographics and geographic analysis. Unlike Compete that takes over a month to compile statistics that are generally inaccurate or Alexa that is nearly a week behind actual traffic data, Quantcast can give site owners the best view of their site’s performance.
Here’s a screen shot of my site’s current performance. You’ll note in the right sidebar links to additional information pertaining to my site’s traffic. Pretty cool, huh?
You can also run a comparison of your site’s traffic to other sites. I ran a quick comparison between my site and Epic Carnival and Losers with Socks - it was a bit humbling but hey, I’m the new kid on the block.
If you’re a site owner and you aren’t set up with Quantcast, I’d recommend you do so. It will take a month or so before they can begin tracking your site and providing good analysis but it will be well worth your time.
Quantcast is also in the process of developing a media planner that will serve as a public relations kit to post on your site. This will allow potential advertisers a quick view of your site’s performance without having to visit Quantcast to obtain the information.
What are you waiting for? Get over to Quantcast and sign up today.
