Volunteers Land Two More Recruits

The University of Tennessee has landed two more commitments from prep football players. Nigel Mitchell-Thorton from Stone Mountain, GA committed to the Vols this past Friday, as did D. T. Shackelford of Decatur, AL.

Thorton, a 6-2, 210-pound linebacker, is a 3-star prospect that received attention from Georgia Tech, Mississippi State and North Carolina State. Shackelford is a 6-2, 235-pound linebacker that chose the Vols over Auburn, Ole Miss, and South Carolina.

Tennessee has received commitments from 21 prep players and is still seeking commitments from many of the nation’s top high school football players. Check out the list of players Tennessee is actively pursuing by visiting Scout.
