While having a nice chat with Ghost at Third Saturday in Blogtober who informed me his employer blocked my website because I’m the new King of Porn, the conversation shifted to Marlon Brown, the nation’s No. 19 rated prep prospect.
Brown is being recruited by Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, Florida and Ohio State. He’s making his first official visit this week to Athens when the Bulldogs take on the Crimson Tide.
During the chat with Ghost I was having a voice conversation with Ken, friend, business associate and frequent contributor to this site. As it turns out, Harding Academy, Brown’s school, posted a link to a highlight video of Harding’s game against St. George’s last week.
Ken mentioned how great the highlight was and commented on the moves Brown showed as he scored on a 77-yard touchdown pass. I’ve seen this kid play a lot over the past two years and this highlight is a good representation of what he can do.
However, I’ve seen better moves from him, especially on punt and kickoff returns. In the opening game of the season against St. Benedict, he made some moves after catching a skinny slant that ultimately led to his scoring a TD that just blew me away.
It’s a short clip and the quality isn’t the best, but you’ll get a good idea of what I’ve been writing about. This kid has all the tools and he just needs some fine tuning to make him one of the most dynamic offensive threats in the country.
After the jump, look in the upper right corner for the clip. This is for you Ghost!
One other bit of news regarding Marlon that wasn’t well publicized, he made an unofficial visit to Tennessee this past weekend to watch the Vols get crunched by Florida. I’ll have more on that later.
Big thanks to Ken for bringing this to my attention.
