Harding Academy Advances To Playoffs

Harding Academy pounded Rossville Christian 56-14 on Friday to advance to the Tennessee state playoffs beginning next week.
The Lions (8-2, 6-1 Division 2-A) completed their regular season tied with Davidson Academy (8-2, 6-1) but received the top seed by virtue of their 35-27 victory over the Bears on October 3.
Quarterback Phillip Branch completed 12-of-17 passes for 203 yards and one touchdown while Drew Chick added touchdown runs of 3 and 19 yards in the romp over Rossville.
SBEC defeated FACS Friday 45-27 to send the Crusaders to their second consecutive loss. FACS lost last Friday to Davidson Academy.
Davidson and SBEC also received first round byes but will square off in Nashville on November 14.
Harding will face the winner of the FACS-St. George’s contest on November 14.
