Look who turned 19 today, none other than rising country music star Taylor Swift. The Koa Wood-playing songstress was born on a Christmas Tree farm just outside of Reading, PA and has become one of the most popular young entertainers in America.
Taylor’s self-titled first album was released in 2006 and has since been certified as a 3x multi-platinum, meaning she sold a hell of a lot of albums and made a bunch of money.
She was recently in the news when her boyfriend, Joe Jonas, allegedly broke up with her during a 27-second telephone conversation. Ah, young love.
But let’s not focus on the bad. Taylor has done some remarkable things in her short time here on planet earth. She teamed up with Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen to help combat child Internet predators.
The year-long campaign, launched in partnership with the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police, will distribute Internet safety information and materials to parents and students across the state.
So on behalf of the sports blogosphere, Happy Birthday and don’t let yourself get too worked up over idiot boy Joe Jonas. I don’t think you’ll have any trouble finding an eager suitor.
