Harding Academy wide receiver Marlon Brown is now considering Ole Miss, and will make an official visit to Oxford next weekend (January 17).

Harding Academy WR Marlon Brown
The 6-5, 210-pound Brown, the Tennessee Division 2-A Mr. Football Award winner and the state’s consensus No. 1 prep prospect, will also make official visits to Florida on January 23 and Tennessee on January 30.
Brown has already made official visits to Georgia and Ohio State and is rated as the No. 27 overall prep prospect nationally by Scout.
College prospects are allowed a maximum of five official visits. Brown had been scheduled to visit LSU today (January 10), but canceled the trip.
Brown received a visit from Rebels’ head coach Houston Nutt in early December along with Ohio State assistant head coach Darrell Hazzle.
Nutt contacted Brown on December 4 and asked if he could pay him a visit. Nutt apparently made a strong enough impression to garner an official visit.
Brown has made it clear he’d like to remain close to his Memphis home to give his grandmother an opportunity to watch him play. Ole Miss would easily be the closest school to Memphis on Brown’s list, just 67 miles south.
Considering the uncertainty surrounding the quarterback situation at Tennessee, the recent announcement of Georgia’s Matt Stafford’s intentions to enter the NFL Draft and the outside possibility of Florida’s Tim Tebow to announce for the draft as well, Ole Miss and Ohio State have the most stable quarterback situations.
The Rebels will welcome back Jevan Sneed next season and the Buckeyes have at least two more years with Terrelle Pryor calling signals.
Brown has indicated he will make his announcement via a live press conference on February 4, national signing day.
