The downturn in the global economy has hit Hugh Hefner’s Playboy empire hard. He’s had to scrap his nine-year-old tradition of holding a pre-Super Bowl party before the big game over the weekend.
Hefner has been hosting the annual Playboy event since 2000, but he’s decided to cut back on the extravagance this year after bosses at the adult magazine announced a number of job cuts.
Last year, Hefner held a $2,000-a-head oasis-themed party featuring a special performance by rapper Common.
Damn, and this was the year I was hoping to be invited! That figures.
