Happy Birthday Isla Fisher

Isla Fisher is celebrating her 33rd birthday today. Fisher began acting on Australian television, and is best known for her role in the 2005 film Wedding Crashers opposite Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.

From 1994 to 1997, Fisher played the role of Shannon Reed on the hit Australian soap opera Home and Away.

After leaving the popular soap to pursue new challenges, Fisher landed a part in the film version of Scooby-Doo as Mary-Jane, Shaggy Rogers’s love interest, and subsequently was taken on by an American agent.

Fisher’s role in Wedding Crashers won her the Breakthrough Performance Award at the MTV Movie Awards in 2005.

In 2006, Fisher starred as Becca, a Manhattan party host in the offbeat relationship drama London co-starring Jessica Biel.

She was scheduled to appear in The Simpsons Movie, although her appearance was cut from the final version. She will star in the movie adaption of the book Confessions of a Shopaholic, which is set to release later this month.

Isla’s flaming red hair is obviously her most noticeable feature. She doesn’t jump right off the screen with her looks but her acting – especially playing roles of zany characters – seems to be her greatest asset.
