Marlon Brown Has Georgia on His Mind
Published by MoonDog on February 4, 2009
Wide receiver Marlon Brown, one of the nation’s top prep prospects, signed a letter of intent today to attend the University of Georgia. Brown is the state of Tennessee’s Mr. Football award winner in Division 2-A and considered offers from Tennessee, Ohio State and Ole Miss.
Brown, while not publicly stating it, had been leaning toward Georgia throughout his recruitment. Although the announcement of former Bulldogs’ quarterback Matt Stafford decision to enter the NFL Draft may have caused Brown to ponder the possibilities, the opportunity to line up opposite wide receiver A.J. Green was very appealing.
Brown helped his Harding Academy team reach the Division 2-A state finals this season, losing a heart breaker to Davidson Academy 36-34. Brown completed his season with 1,836 all-purpose yards and 20 touchdowns.
Brown announced his decision via a live press conference on ESPNU this afternoon.
