Happy Birthday Jeri Ryan

Jeri Ryan, best known for her role as the Borg Seven of Nine on Star Trek: Voyager, celebrates her 41st birthday today.

Ryan was born in Munich, West Germany, the child of an U.S. Army Master Sergeant and grew up living the life of a military family, moving from continent to continent. She graduated from high school in 1986 as a National Merit Scholar and then attended Northwestern University.

In 1989, Ryan was chosen Miss Illinois and placed third runner-up at the 1990 Miss America Pageant. Perhaps it was at that point Ryan was preparing for the role that made her famous, winning the initial swimsuit competition.

Upon graduating from Northwestern in 1990, Ryan pursued acting full-time in Los Angeles. She made her acting debut in TVs Who’s the Boss? and followed that with guest-starring roles in TV shows like Melrose Place, Matlock, and The Sentinel.

Her big break came when she won a regular role as an extraterrestrial investigator named Juliet Stuart on the TV show Dark Skies. The show was canceled after one season, but her performance caught the attention of Star Trek producers.

In 1997 Ryan landed the role of Seven of Nine, in which she spent every episode wearing tight-fitting spandex that revealed her very ample figure. Ryan became an instant sensation and continued in the role until the series ended in 2001.

Later that year, Ryan joined the cast of Boston Public in the role of Ronnie Cooke. The show’s producer, David E. Kelley, wrote the role specifically for her. The show ended in 2004.

Ryan has recently appeared in films, such as Down With Love and as Lydia in the independent film Men Cry Bullets. She then starred in her first leading role in the independent film “The Last Man”, playing the last woman on Earth.

As you’ll see from the images in the gallery below, Ryan joins a growing list of actresses over 40 that are still looking mighty fine. She hasn’t lost the figure that once squeezed into spandex every day during her time as Seven of Nine.

Enjoy the view and here’s hoping Jeri Ryan has a very happy birthday.
