On November 19, 2008, the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee announced the Final Four host cities for 2012 through 2016.
The committee continued its trend of awarding the Final Four to large venues, as evidenced with three of the newest football stadiums having been built over the past few years.
Note Lucas Oil Stadium and Reliant Stadium will each host the Final Four twice over the next seven years.
The Dallas Cowboys new stadium, set to begin hosting numerous sports and entertainment events this year, will serve as the venue for the 2014 Final Four.
Expect to see virtually the same list of cities hosting the Final Four well into the future, or until other large multi-function stadiums are built.
2010 – Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana
2011 – Reliant Stadium, Houston, Texas
2012 – Louisiana Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana
2013 – Georgia Dome, Atlanta, Georgia
2014 – Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, Texas
2015 – Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana
2016 – Reliant Stadium, Houston, Texas
