Jenna Jameson, the planet’s most popular adult actress and easily the most successful in the history of adult entertainment, celebrates her 35th birthday today.

I recall the first time I watched Jameson in action, a fresh-faced blonde with a spectacular body and a great smile. I knew then what many knew – this was no ordinary porn chick.

That first viewing of Jameson came in 1993, and from that point forward no one has ever come close to matching her popularity. Moreover, Jameson has risen to become one of America’s most successful entrepreneur’s.

In 2005, it was estimated that Jameson and her partner at the time, ex-husband Jay Grdina, had generated revenues in excess of $30 million annually from operations of her web site, Club Jenna.

Jameson’s fame can be isolated to her acceptance into mainstream celebrity. While former porn actresses Ginger Lynn and Traci Lords enjoyed some mild success in mainstream films during the late 1980′s and early 1990′s, Jameson was making appearances in films, television and on radio broadcasts that no adult actress could have ever appeared on.

After landing a small role in Howard Stern’s 1997 film Private Parts, she continued with appearances on Stern’s radio show, guest-hosted Wild On! and Talk Soup on E! television and was a guest voice in a 2001 episode of Family Guy.

Jameson won an award for her voice role in the 2002 video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Her 2004 autobiography, How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale, spent six weeks on The New York Times Best Seller list.

Jenna Jameson will forever be the greatest adult actress of all time. While some of the newer talent may be all the rage at the moment, in a few years they’ll long be forgotten.

No one will ever forget Jenna Jameson – I certainly won’t.
