Happy (Belated) Birthday Alessandra Ambrosio

Alessandra Ambrosio, one of the most popular of all the Victoria’s Secret models, celebrated her 28th birthday on April 11.

Like so many of the world’s most gorgeous models, Ambrosio hails from Brazil.

When she was just eight years old, Ambrosio decided she wanted to be a model after seeing a picture of top covergirl Karen Mulder in a magazine.

Ambrosio wrote on her web site bio that she enrolled at a modeling class at the age of 12 and at the age of 14 she was one of 20 finalists for an elite modeling competition in Brazil.

In August 2008, Ambrosio gave birth to her first child and just three months later, participated in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Ambrosio was also selected by AskMen.com as No. 2 out of the Top 99 Most Desirable Women of 2008.
