What’s Up With Your Boy Obama?

I’m curious to know why the President of the United States recently referred to America, and Americans in general, as having “failed to appreciate Europe’s leading role in the world” and has “shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive” towards its allies.

When exactly did Europe assume a leading role in the world? Not in my lifetime has Europe ever been anything but a continent full of ungrateful ninnies, seeming to have forgotten they owe their very existence to the United States.

Does that mean I’m an arrogant American for professing the truth? Perhaps it does.

I wonder if my grandfathers, both of which served this nation during WWII, would consider themselves arrogant.

I can only imagine how arrogantly my grandfathers stepped onto the battlefields of Europe and the Pacific, taking umbrage to the fact that we, the arrogant and derisive Americans, had the unmitigated gall to fight for the freedoms Europeans and others around the globe enjoy today.

My father probably feels like owing Europe an apology too. Shortly after the Korean War, he was stationed in Germany to help protect former Nazis from the Soviets. How arrogant of him to do that!

I must be arrogant too. When I was stationed in Sardinia for 18 months while in the U.S. Navy, I can’t tell you how badly I felt for having the nerve to serve my country and help protect the Mediterranean.

I recall how arrogant I felt when walking through the grave site at Normandy Beach. To see the rows of crosses and Stars of David lined neatly by the thousands, I can’t tell you how angry I was with those men that died storming Omaha and Utah beaches on June 6, 1944.

How dare they give their lives so arrogantly, so derisively, in defense of their nation. How dare they invade Fortress Europe in an effort to rid western Europe of nearly five years of Nazi occupation.

As the hail of mortars, artillery and MG-42′s poured down upon them as they arrogantly waded ashore, all the while ignoring the fact that Europe – not America – was the leader of the free world and as such, had the temerity to forge ahead while enduring massive losses. Damn America!

I’m really ashamed of myself for not recognizing Europe as the leader of the free world, especially as the European nations stood firmly against the Germans and later, the Soviets throughout much of the 20th century.

Our presence on the European continent, namely France, was merely in support of the brave French lads who, four years earlier, got the living shit blitzkrieged out them in just six weeks.

Thank goodness the English had enough boats to get them off the beach at Dunkirk, or American soldiers may not have been given the opportunity to arrogantly drive the Nazis out of western Europe.

I don’t understand why I felt so dismissive towards the French and other European nations; it’s very perplexing.

I want all 60+ million of you that helped elect your boy Barry to pay attention. Obama has insulted me, my father and my grandfathers, all of which served this nation and made an effort to do something that actually mattered.

Unlike Obama and his apologies to the Europeans, I offer no apologies, but I do offer these words I’m hopeful you read.

Each and every last one of you can go fuck yourselves. And your boy Obama – he can go fuck himself too.

And I say that with as much arrogance as I can possibly muster.

Spoken like a true arrogant American…. You know, an arrogant man will never admit his arrogance. So if you really were arrogant, how would you know unless someone pointed it out to you?

You also omitted the rest of Obama’s quote where he accused Europe in turn of being too anti-American. Sounded like a balanced statement to me….but what do Americans know of balance?

Well you managed to take his comments as far out of context as possible. It sure made it easier for your rant though, as pathetic as it was. I am amazed you didn’t try to claim he denounced our bid for freedom from the british or lay blame on him for the treatment of the american indian.

Talk about a self serving and, yes, arrogant american.

    > I thought I told Obama’s boys to go fuck themselves.

You seem to be unclear on the concept of arrogance. Just because you tell someone to do something doesn’t mean they are going to!

And BTW I am not “Obama’s boy”. I am not impressed by what he is doing, but I think what he said about American arrogance is right on.
