Audrina Patridge, one of the most popular celebrities in America and one of the stars of the television series The Hills, celebrates her 24th birthday today.
Patridge moved to Los Angeles and was working as a receptionist at Quixote Studios but in 2006 befriended Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag. As a result of that friendship, Patridge became a regular on the MTV show The Hills.
Patridge has since attempted to launch an acting career but has met with very limited success.
In 2008 she landed the lead film role as Megan in the remake of the 1983 horror film, The House on Sorority Row which has been subtly renamed Sorority Row. The film is planned for release in the U.S. in October 2009.
Patridge scored the role of Kelsea in Into the Blue 2: The Reef, the sequel to the 2005 movie Into the Blue. However, the sequel was a total flop and the movie was released straight to DVD last month.
Patridge has appeared on Mad TV as herself during the show’s 17th and 18th seasons. She has been rumored to play Joan Friskell in the remake of Queen Kong in 2010, as well as the role of Zelda Fitzgerald in the upcoming biopic of F. Scott Fitzgerald, but neither of those roles have been confirmed.
Patridge seems to have exploded onto the landscape of American pop culture despite the fact her successes have been few. But clearly her looks have pushed the Yorba Linda native into the forefront and for good reason.
