Monica Mayhem became one of the few porn actresses to make the crossover into mainstream acting last year when she landed a role in the 2008 film Sex and the City: The Movie.
Mayhem was born in Brisbane, Australia and celebrated her 31st birthday in March. Before adult films, she worked in Sydney and London, first in finance then as an exotic dancer.
Since coming to the U.S. in 2000, Mayhem has enjoyed one of the longest stints in the adult entertainment industry. She’s been featured in more than 400 adult films and dozens of men’s magazines.
Mayhem has worked with hundreds of actors and actresses in the adult entertainment business, including Holly Sampson, who has been featured on this site before.
Mayhem has won many awards for her work in porn, including the XRCO Starlet of the Year for 2001, FOXE Vixen of the Year for 2002 and KSEX Radio’s Hottest Radio Babe for 2006.
Outside the adult film business, Mayhem is a singer/guitarist in an all-girl metal band, Sweet Avenge.
Mayhem scored a major breakthrough when she got the part in Sex and the City: The Movie. She played the highly sexed neighbor of Samantha Jones, played by Kim Catrall, and was the love interest of Gilles Marini, who played the role of Dante.
Considering how long Mayhem has toiled in the porn industry, landing even a bit part in a major mainstream movie was a huge success.
