Molly Sims, the small town girl born in Murray, Kentucky that became one of the most recognized models on the planet, celebrates her 36th birthday today.
Sims dropped out of Vanderbilt University in 1993 to pursue a career in modeling. Seven years later, she became a fixture in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, appearing in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2006.
In the 2006 issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue she appeared in a photo wearing a bikini designed by Susan Rosen worth $30 million that was made of diamonds.
Sims appeared as Delinda Deline for all five seasons of the television series Las Vegas and appeared in several films including The Benchwarmers, Yes Man, The Pink Panther 2 and Fired Up.
On December 6, 2008 Sims appeared in the now famous Saturday Night Live video from the Lonely Island Boys, Jizz in My Pants, as the girl with Andy Samberg in the beginning of the skit.
She recently left a six-year relationship with actor Enrique Murciano, who plays Danny Taylor on Without a Trace. She has said publicly that they were at the point in the relationship where it was time to get married or go their separate ways.
I have a unique connection with Sims because she was born in Murray, Kentucky and I played football at Murray State in the late 70′s/early 80′s.
Sims lithe figure and exceptional good looks made her a favorite among Sports Illustrated readers, evidenced by the five appearances she made in the Swimsuit Issue.
