I was fortunate enough to land some images of Denise Milani visiting the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. and the USS Midway (CV-41), an aircraft carrier that was the lead ship in her class.
Milani and her friend toured Washington and spent the better part of the day taking in the sights. I have it on good authority that Milani is a big admirer of Lincoln, our 16th President.
This past April Milani traveled to San Diego where she got an opportunity to go aboard the Midway, which is now classified as a Museum ship.
The Midway saw action during the Vietnam War and most recently in Operation Desert Storm, the first military operation to take place against Iraq in 1990.
Operation Desert Storm was my last major deployment during my time in the U.S. Navy.
Aside from all the historical data, Milani, as you might imagine, drew the attention of anyone coming within a reasonable distance of her.
Let’s face it, it’s hard not to notice Denise. At any rate, enjoy the images of Milani and as an added bonus, you’ll catch a few glimpses of the Lincoln Memorial and the USS Midway.
