An Ode To Calipari
Published by MoonDog on May 29, 2009
Sometimes it’s better to express yourself through song or visual aids and in the wake of Wednesday’s announcement that the NCAA is investigating potential violations involving the University of Memphis’ men’s basketball program, now seemed an appropriate time to use one such aid.
University of Kentucky head coach John Calipari has stated the NCAA has assured him he is not named in any of the allegations involving Memphis, the team he coached during the time frame the infractions are said to have taken place.
The NCAA and Kentucky will have us believe that this is purely a University of Memphis issue and that Calipari had no knowledge of any potential violations taking place.
Yea, right.
All of the players involved in this tragic comedy, namely Calipari, David Price – the NCAA Vice President of Enforcement – and Mitch Barnhart, the University of Kentucky Athletic Director, are complicit in the allegations brought forth despite what all of them are saying.
Just so there isn’t any misunderstanding how I feel about all of this, I thought this old clip from the 1960′s would pretty much sum up my opinion.

Calipari is a fraud! He is just as much of a thug as his players. Everyone give him a free ride because he wins.
