ACC Announces Early Football Season Television Schedule

The Atlantic Coast Conference announced their early football television schedule, made up of 17 televised games during the first three weeks of the season. Five of those games will be national exposure games that take place during the first seven days of the 2009 college football season.

The ACC will get the ball rolling early for the Labor Day weekend. On Thursday, September 3rd,the N.C. State Wolfpack will play host to South Carolina at Carter-Finley Stadium.

The 2009 Chick-fil-A National Kickoff Game, which will be televised on ABC, will feature a match-up between Virgina Tech and SEC powerhouse, Alabama, from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Maryland will take the field later on ESPN2 at 10pm, when they meet California on the West Coast.

The ACC will close out the Labor Day weekend with a rivalry grudge match that has never died. Florida State will play host to the Miami Hurricanes from Tallahassee Florida on September 7th at 8pm.

Last but most certainly not least, Clemson will travel to meet long-time rival Georgia Tech on September 10th in a key conference match-up.

In all, the ACC, announced 13 nationally televised games, 10 of which will occur in the first three weeks, including a double-header appearance on Sept. 19 between Duke at Kansas, followed by Florida State at BYU later in the day. A third ESPN Thursday will feature Georgia Tech at Miami.

After the first three weeks of the season, game times and TV will be announced weekly with ESPN/ABC and Raycom Sports, who will be making their choices with a 12-day advanced notice beginning on September 14th, for the games starting on September 26th.
