Kiss co-founder Gene Simmons has raised $15,000 for a good cause by selling his kidney stone in a bizarre online auction.
Simmons revealed he recently suffered the ailment, but came up with a unique use for the solid formations of urinary minerals after passing it through his body.
He says, “I passed a kidney stone and I put it on eBay for charity. (I got) $15,000.”
Simmons didn’t identify which charity was the benefactor of the kidney stone sale.
Simmons is known as “The Demon,” a moniker used when he performs with Kiss.
Sometimes criticized for his politics and thoughts regarding Islam, he can currently be seen on A&E’s Family Jewels along with long time partner and former Playboy Playmate Shannon Tweed.
