The Memphis Grizzlies have a nonbinding agreement in place with the Los Angeles Clippers for a trade that would swap recently acquired guard Quentin Richardson for forward Zach Randolph, NBA sources confirmed late Wednesday night.
Richardson, acquired last week on draft night in a trade with the New York Knicks in exchange for Darko Milicic, is moving before having the chance to even settle in with his new team.
Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley wouldn’t comment on the story, which the Los Angeles Times first reported Wednesday evening on its Web site.
Randolph averaged 20.9 points and 9.4 boards a game last season with the Clippers. The eight-year veteran Randolph has also played with the Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers.
