Happy Birthday Gisele Bundchen

Gisele Bundchen, the Brazilian-born Victoria’s Secret Angel and wife of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, celebrates her 29th birthday today.

According to Forbes magazine, Bundchen is the highest-paid model in the world and the 16th richest woman in the entertainment world, with an estimated $150 million fortune.
She has topped the Forbes.com highest-earning models list for the third year in a row, earning $25 million in 2008.
Originally, Bundchen wanted to be a professional volleyball player. During her early youth she was so thin friends used to call her “Olívia Palito” (Portuguese for Olive Oyl, the cartoon character Popeye’s girlfriend).
Suffice it to say, Bundchen has blossomed since then.
In 1996, she moved to New York City to begin her modeling career, debuting at Fashion Week. Just three years in 1999, Bundchen appeared on the cover of the July 1999 issue of Vogue magazine.
The accompanying editorial entitled “The Return of the Sexy Model”, is widely viewed as marking the end of the fashion industry’s “heroin chic” era – whatever that means.
Economist Fred Fuld developed a stock index to measure the profit performance improvement of companies represented by Bundchen compared with the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
According to Fuld, the Gisele Bundchen Stock Index was up 15% between May and July 2007, surpassing the Dow Jones Industrial Average which was up just 8.2% – in other words, Bundchen is good for business.
With so much success in her life its hard to imagine things could get better for Bundchen. Reportedly the supermodel is pregnant and is due to give birth to her first child sometime in early 2010.
Although there are thousands of images available for the world’s most popular model, this gallery represents – at least in my opinion – the very best of Bundchen.
