The six-year relationship of two gay penguins at a California zoo ended recently when Harry abandoned Pepper and moved into a nearby nest with the recently-widowed Linda.
The penguins are inhabitants of the San Francisco Zoo.
Linda’s recently-deceased partner was a leader within the penguin community and with that status comes more nests.
A zoo official says that Harry saw Linda as an “attractive prospect” and shifted his gaze towards her and her expanded real estate.
No word on whether Pepper has found a new love.
Although not gay, the Penguin from the televison series Batman – played by Burgess Meredith – at least dressed like he was gay.
Perhaps this will serve as some consolation to the gay and lesbian community regarding the tragic breakup of Harry and Pepper.
