I’m Retiring Douchebag; New Word Is Dingleberry

I wanted to write a few words regarding a contest I came across at Coed Magazine where they’ve launched an effort to replace the term Douchebag.

The idea of the contest is for everyone to send them a message via Twitter with a new word to describe the most vile creatures among us.

I sent them my entry earlier this week but just in case they didn’t get it, the word I’ve chosen to replace Douchebag is Dingleberry.

The first time I heard that word put to use was at football practice when I was in the 7th grade. Our coach, Bill Key, posed a question to one of the players, asking him if he knew what a Dingleberry was.

In graphic detail, Key defined what a Dingleberry was and sure enough, it was pretty bad. In fact, it was really bad.

From this point forward, anyone associated with this fine, wholesome, family-oriented web site will no longer use the word Douchebag to describe those citizens worthy of our ire.

Instead, those of us at MoonDog Sports will now use the term Dingleberry to identify people who thoroughly piss us off.
