Singer Marc Anthony Becomes Partial Owner Of Miami Dolphins

Singer Marc Anthony has kicked off another career. He’s become a partial owner of the Miami Dolphins.

The 40-year-old sports fan has struck a deal with real estate entrepreneur Stephen Ross, who paid a reported $1 billion for 95 percent stake in the franchise in January, to become a minority owner.

Anthony did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement but is convinced his costly investment will be worthwhile, because he’s already scoring points with wife Jennifer Lopez.

He tells People.com, “I’m a huge sports fan. These opportunities don’t come around too often. It’s quite an honor and a privilege to be able to sit here today saying that I’m a part-owner of an NFL team.”

“It would have probably been cheaper just to buy season tickets. We spoke for quite a while about his vision for the team and, like I said, it was just intoxicating. It was just a win-win for everybody involved.”

“Jennifer loves Miami. So she’s really, really happy about this because we’re going to be spending a lot of time down there.”
