Lisa Dergan, Playboy’s Playmate of the Month for July 1998 and wife of Chicago White Sox outfielder Scott Podsednik, celebrates her 39th birthday today.

Dergan has enjoyed tremendous success since appearing in the pages of Playboy. Shortly after being named Playmate of the Month, she appeared in the 1999 short story Midsummer Night’s Doom, in which the fictitious character of James Bond visits the Playboy mansion.

Dergan has the distinction of being the first real person (rather than an actress playing a non-fictional character) ever to be awarded the status of “Bond Girl”.

In 2001, Dergan co-starred in the film The Arena with fellow Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal and in 2003 she become the St. Pauli Girl.

Dergan’s big break came in 2001 when she was hired to work as a co-anchor on a weekend sports show at KCBS in Los Angeles. She later joined FOX Sports Net in 2002.

Dergan has interviewed many notable sports figures, including Tiger Woods, John Elway and Chuck Liddell and has reported from the biggest sporting events in America, including the Super Bowl, the Kentucky Derby and the U.S. Open golf tournament.
