Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza, set to relinquish her crown on August 23, will appear topless in Maxim magazine’s September issue.
Reportedly she got pageant owner Donald Trump’s permission before posing for Maxim.
Mendoza was embroiled in a mild controversy after photos of her modeling nude for a jewelry ad surfaced. The nude photos were taken prior to her being crowned Miss Universe 2008.
Officials from the Miss Universe Organization decided against penalizing her, saying that the candid photos were not pornographic, but instead were “artistic in nature, and they don’t have an ounce of pornographic content to them.”
