The recent break-up between Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo and singer Jessica Simpson was largely due to her drinking habits, says sources close to the two.
Peer pressure from Romo’s teammates and friends drove him to finally dump Simpson, a decision he didn’t make with ease.
“Jessica would get really drunk and obnoxious, it was out of control. She would be sprawled everywhere with her head on Romo’s lap and the look on Tony’s face said it all,” an insider says.
“He was so embarrassed in front of all the guys and his teammates were really harsh on him over it. Breaking up was a really hard decision for Tony to make.”
Romo really did love Simpson and “fought for her” with his skeptical friends, but in the end, it got to a point where it just didn’t make sense for him to stay in the relationship.
Romo has since banned Simpson from his home, going as far to post a sign on the front gate reading “RED ALERT!!! Tony Romo has made some changes to his list of people allowed in….Jessica is no longer on the list and not approved for access.”
Simpson’s intoxication was evident in recent photos taken of her fighting through a crowd of paparazzi.
