Erika Christensen, the actress who rose to fame as a drug addicted teenager in the film Traffic, celebrated her 27th birthday on August 19.
Christensen was raised in Los Angeles, California and started out on television in commercials for McDonald’s.
Christensen had several small roles in various television programs before starting her movie career which included The Geena Davis Show, Frasier, The Practice, 3rd Rock from the Sun and Touched by an Angel.
After making a splash with her performance in Traffic, she was named one of People magazine’s Breakthrough Stars of 2001 and received numerous awards, including Female Breakthrough Performance at the MTV Movie Awards and Outstanding Performance by a Cast Ensemble at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Christensen’s other film credits include Swimfan and The Perfect Score.
