Happy Birthday Rachel Bilson

Rachel Bilson, born into a show business family and later rising to fame in the television series The O.C., celebrates her 28th birthday today.

Bilson attended Grossmont College but dropped out after one year, taking her father’s advice to pursue a professional acting career and making several appearances in commercials, including ads for Subway, Raisin Bran and Pepto-Bismol.

She made her acting debut in 2003, appearing in episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter.

Bilson was cast in The O.C., which debuted in 2003. Her character, Summer Roberts, was initially intended to appear in only a few episodes, but became a series regular after a successful run, as Bilson’s on-screen romance with Seth Cohen became a noted aspect of the series.

FHM Magazine named her 28th in the 2006 100 Sexiest Women in the World list and later that same year she was also named one of People magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People

In 2007 she was ranked No. 43 at AskMen.com on their annual Top 99 Women list.

Although she has become something of an enigma, Bilson remains popular. She’s often featured at celebrity websites for basically doing nothing.
