One of Barack Obama’s Czars is looking for a job after self-avowed communist Van Jones tendered his letter of resignation early Sunday amid controversy over past inflammatory statements, the White House said.
Jones, one of Obama’s self-appointed Czars specializing in “green jobs” with the White House Council on Environmental Quality, was linked to efforts suggesting a government role in the 2001 terror attacks, claimed whites were poisoning minorities and was a convicted felon.
The text of Jones’ letter is as follows:
“I am resigning my post at the Council on Environmental Quality, effective today.
On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me. They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide.
I have been inundated with calls – from across the political spectrum – urging me to “stay and fight.”
But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future.
It has been a great honor to serve my country and my President in this capacity. I thank everyone who has offered support and encouragement. I am proud to have been able to make a contribution to the clean energy future. I will continue to do so, in the months and years ahead.”
Jones’ claim that “opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me” and that “they are using lies and distortions to distract and divide” is so utterly preposterous that only he, a blithering idiot, would actually believe such nonsense.
Furthermore, if Jones was receiving so much support urging him to “stay and fight,” then why didn’t he man up and do just that?
I suspect that Jones was asked to resign so as not to bring any more bad publicity upon Obama, not that the president’s past and current associations with radicals like Jones haven’t been well-documented.
Additionally, I don’t expect Jones to be the only Czar who will eventually be forced to resign.
Obama has surrounded himself with people who clearly want to change the fundamental principles this nation was founded upon, and most Americans simply aren’t going to tolerate that.
If Obama were wise, he’d ask Cass Sunstein, John Holdren and Ezekial Emmanuel to pack their bags now and head off into the sunset.
If he doesn’t, chances are good the spotlight shown on Jones will be just as bright on those individuals, bringing further embarrassment to Obama and highlighting the fraud he is.
