Allen Iverson, Memphis Grizzlies Meet
Published by MoonDog on September 8, 2009
Allen Iverson said it was going to happen. Michael Heisley confirmed it too. Monday in Atlanta, Iverson and members of the Memphis Grizzlies staff met to talk, answer questions and move one step closer to a deal.
Iverson posted a comment about the meeting Sunday night on his Twitter account. He said, “I am looking forward to meeting the owner of the Memphis Grizzlies on tomorrow, along with his staff. I want to help them develop a winner.”
Iverson has been working out this off season. Most recently in Atlanta with his former teammate, Eric Snow.
The Grizzlies confirmed the meeting but declined to comment further.
Memphis is believed to be the only team actively pursuing the four-time scoring champion. It’s reported the Grizzlies will offer Iverson a one-year deal worth $3.5 million.
