Daniela Pestova, a three-time Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model and one of the world’s most popular supermodels, celebrates her 39th birthday today.
Pestova was born in Czechoslovakia, now known as the Czech Republic. She had plans of attending college but entered a modeling contest and won. She signed with the Madison Modeling Agency, moved to Paris, did some modeling there and then moved to New York.
Once Pestova hit the Big Apple her career took off. She made her first Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover in 1995 and has also been honored as the cover model in 2000 and 2006.
She has appeared on the covers of GQ, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Glamour and ELLE magazines. Pestova also models for Victoria’s Secret and L’Oreal.
