ESPN Sucks, NFL On CBS Ratings Up
Published by MoonDog on October 21, 2009
I came across these interesting nuggets on Monday at TVByTheNumbers.com, a web site that posts daily reports of ratings for everything on television.
Apparently ESPN did not allow on-air commentary from its Around The Horn and Pardon The Interruption personalities regarding the ALCS and NLCS while some of the games were being played during the airing of those programs.
The author of the post, Robert Seidman, is a big fan of both ESPN programs but called out the “Worldwide Leader” for muting its discussion of both MLB league championships.
According to Seidman, ESPN told Tony Reali, Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon to stifle thyselves. Seidman also reports that despite the New England Patriots 59-0 thumping of the Tennessee Titans, CBS’ ratings were up compared to Week 6 NFL games last season.
