Kareem Abdul-Jabbar May Join Memphis Grizzlies Staff
Published by MoonDog on October 27, 2009
Ronald Tillery of the Commercial Appeal is reporting that NBA Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will entertain the possibility of joining the Memphis Grizzlies.
Abdul-Jabbar is under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers after having tutored Andrew Bynum over the past several seasons.
But the Los Angeles Daily News reported earlier this month that Abdul-Jabbar’s interaction with Bynum would decrease and he’d take a lesser role with the Lakers this season.
Abdul-Jabbar, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, attended the Grizzlies’ practice Monday morning. Team officials had no comment regarding Abdul-Jabbar’s presence but did ask for and receive permission from the Los Angeles Lakers to speak with him.
