Happy Birthday Sophie Marceau

Sophie Marceau, the French actress best known for her role in Braveheart and as a Bond Girl in The World is Not Enough, celebrates her 43rd birthday today.

The sultry Marceau is a credit to women over 40 around the globe. She got her start in 1980 when a modeling agency was looking for teenagers and posed for photos.

Thinking nothing would come of it, a casting director came across Marceau’s photos and signed her to a long-term contract.

Marceau made her acting debut in the 1980 French film La Boum, which was a hit not only in France, where 4.5 million tickets were sold, but several other European countries and Japan.

Over the next 14 years Marceau starred in French films and received critical acclaim for several roles. But it wasn’t until 1995 when she landed the role of Princess Isabelle in Mel Gibson’s Braveheart.

Following her success in Braveheart, Marceau changed course and became a villainess Bond girl by playing Elektra King in The World Is Not Enough.

Over the past 10 years Marceau has continued to work in French films and even made her directorial debut.

Ever since her appearance in Braveheart, I’ve had the hots for Marceau. She’s maintained her good looks over the years and the photos in the gallery below will serve as proof.

Marceau has had her fair share of nude scenes and also had a famous wardrobe malfunction at the Cannes Film Festival where one of her breasts was on full display.
