NFL Week 13 Predictions & Five Must See Games

The playoffs inch closer as the NFL season enters Week 13 and there are several teams – the Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars – who will be fighting for their playoff lives.

The Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints find themselves with a perfect record at this point in the season, but will one of them come away with their first loss?

Here are the NFL predictions for the upcoming week and those five can’t miss games for any NFL fan.

Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants
The Dallas Cowboys have continued to surge in the right direction while their division rival, the New York Giants lost a tough one to the Denver Broncos last week. The Giants rushing game has been lack luster all season and is one of the reasons for their average 6-5 record.

Although quarterback Eli Manning should be closer to 100% when they take the field on Sunday, the Giants are asking him to do too much. In the end the Giants offense will falter as the Cowboys defense takes over and earn them a win.

Prediction – Dallas 28 New York 14

Philadelphia Eagles at Atlanta Falcons
The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to keep pace with the Cowboys as they take on the Falcons who are in need of a win to stay in the playoff race. Both teams have given up some points this season but have shown they are able to score when needed.

While Chris Redman showed why he is more than a capable backup in the league, the Falcons need Michael Turner back at 100% if they are going to make any kind of run. The Eagles defense is going to be too much for a banged up Falcons offense.

Prediction – Philadelphia 24 Atlanta 10

Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts
The Tennessee Titans have been on fire since quarterback Vince Young has taken over as the starter. Things have remained the same in Indianapolis while the team has quietly put together an 11-0 season so far.

The Colts defense has continue to impress and has shown it’s no longer the weak spot on this team. But they will be tested by the top running back in the league, Chris Johnson, who has been destroying anyone who has stepped in his way. The Titans will pull off the big upset of the week and spoil the Colts chance at going undefeated.

Prediction – Tennessee 21 Indianapolis 20

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Houston Texans continued to show last week that they are unable to close out a team when needed. Another AFC playoff hopeful, the Jacksonville Jaguars have continued their roller coaster season after being demolished last week.

While this game may not feature all of the big names, it will feature two up and rising running backs and solid defensive units. The teams are going to fight tooth and nail for the win and the chance to keep their playoff hopes alive. Look for the Jaguars to bounce back this week and earn a much needed win.

Prediction – Jacksonville 31 Houston 28

Ray Lewis 100x150Baltimore Ravens at Green Bay Packers
The Baltimore Ravens will still be recovering from their game with the Steelers when they go against the well rested Green Bay Packers who’ve had a 10-day break after killing the Lions on Thanksgiving Day.

The linebacker units on both sides of the field will be flying towards the ball and will provide NFL fans with some big plays. The Packers will sneak away with a win thanks to the arm of Aaron Rodgers who is quietly having a Pro Bowl caliber season.

Prediction – Green Bay 17 Baltimore 14

The Rest of the Week 13 NFL Schedule

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills
The New York Jets led by their dominant defense will be looking to put an end to the Buffalo Bills resurgence. The key match in this game will be the Jets cornerback, Darrelle Revis, who should have no problem shutting down Terrell Owens. The Jets will earn a win and bring their record back to .500.

Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs
The Denver Broncos are going to be well rested after a solid win versus the Giants while the Kansas City Chiefs are still smarting from their lack luster performance against the Chargers. While the Chiefs may keep the game close through three quarters, the Broncos’ running game will give them the edge.

Detroit Lions at Cincinnati Bengals
The Detroit Lions are searching for their third win against the Cincinnati Bengals, who barely did enough to win against the Cleveland Browns. The Bengals passing game, led by Carson Palmer, will get back on track as they inch closer to a division title.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who almost squeaked out a win last week, have found a solid quarterback in Josh Freeman while the Carolina Panthers are still scratching their head over quarterback Jake Delhomme’s roller coaster season. The Panthers will use their running game to control the clock and eventually give them the win.

Oakland Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers are fighting for a playoff appearance as a wildcard team. The Oakland Raiders took a step back last week in their loss to the Cowboys. Look for the Steelers defense to dominate the game as they keep pace with the Baltimore Ravens.

New Orleans Saints at Washington Redskins
The New Orleans Saints are continuing their march towards a perfect season and will have the defensively minded Washington Redskins in their way. Quarterback Drew Brees will continue his MVP push as he helps the Saints win their 12th game of the season.

St. Louis Rams at Chicago Bears
The St. Louis Rams gave up another close one last week as they close in on the top pick in the upcoming NFL draft. The Chicago Bears season continues in a downward spiral with more questions than answers. The Bears defense will be tested by the Rams Stephen Jackson who will help give the Rams the edge.

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins
The New England Patriots were surprised by the Saints on Monday night and will need to bounce back against a division rival as they continue their march to the playoffs. While the Miami Dolphins need this win, there is no way the Patriots will come out on the short end this week.

San Diego Chargers at Cleveland Browns
The San Diego Chargers will need to keep their foot on the gas this week when they face a Cleveland Browns defensive unit that was responsible for keeping the Bengals in check. Look for the Chargers to run the ball effectively this week as they earn another win and inch closer to a division title.

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks
The San Francisco 49ers are clinging to faint playoff hopes and will need to have their defense ready when they take on the Seattle Seahawks and running back Justin Forsett. San Francisco should be able to contain him like they did Maurice Jones-Drew last week and help the 49ers earn their second consecutive victory.

Minnesota Vikings at Arizona Cardinals
The Minnesota Vikings continue to prove non-believers wrong as they remain hot on the heels of the New Orleans Saints for the best record in the NFC. The Arizona Cardinals have shown Kurt Warner is what makes the offense go and will need him at the helm. The Vikings have been on fire as of late, but the time has come for them to lose a close one on the road.

Year to Date 92-44
