Two angry German shoppers were hospitalized after a food fight in a market where one used a salami as a club and the other used Parmesan cheese like a knife.
The ruckus happened at a supermarket in Aachen after two shoppers grabbed the last grocery cart.
After the 74-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman began arguing over who got to the cart first, the woman’s brother, 24, punched the elderly man.
The woman, her brother and their mother continued on filling their newly-claimed cart with groceries when the man made a comeback using a salami.
Wielding the cured sausage like a club, he struck the brother only to find himself fighting off the 53-year-old mother who was on the attack with a 4-pound hunk of Parmesan.
The fight ended after police arrived to break it up. Two of those involved were treated for minor injuries.
No word on whether charges have been filed on any of the combatants.
No mention of a food fight would be worthy unless credence is given to one of the first food fight scenes in film history.
