An obese skunk that was put on a diet has lost more than a quarter of its body weight after ditching its love for bacon sandwiches.
Mr. Bumble was put on weight loss regime involving a strict diet of vegetables and fruit and regular exercise and has now lost almost five pounds.
The two-year-old skunk lives in a zoo in England. Mr. Bumble was given to the zoo and his previous owners admit they had fed him bacon sandwiches.
Mr. Bumble weighed in previously at almost 30 pounds.
Zoo officials say they put Mr. Bumble on the diet because they worried for his health.
One said, “He doesn’t sleep as much as he did and seems a lot more active and interested in what is going on around him.”
But the official admits, “I’m sure he misses the bacon sandwiches.”
It’s not over yet for Mr. Bumble though. Officials want him to lose another two pounds.
