Sheriff’s deputies in McMinn County, Tennessee gave chase after seeing a truck dragging a stolen soda machine, creating a shower of sparks on the highway.
Deputies saw a truck speed by on Highway 39 on Wednesday morning with the soda machine sliding on the pavement.
The soda machine had been stolen from a Dollar General store in Riceville, Tennessee. Eventually the machine broke free of the chain, but the driver kept going.
The deputies finally caught up with the driver and placed him under arrest.
Twenty-nine-year-old Nicholas Nunley faces charges of vandalism, evading arrest, resisting arrest and theft of property over $1,000. Nunley is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
