Grizzlies Overcome Late Deficit To Defeat Trail Blazers

Zach Randolph scored 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds helping the Memphis Grizzlies overcome an 8-point deficit to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers 109-105 on Tuesday night.

Portland took a 104-96 lead with 3:45 left to play, but Memphis used a 13-1 run to earn their 17th victory of the season.

O.J. Mayo, who scored 27 points to share the team high with Randolph, scored on a driving layup to tie the game at 104 with 30 seconds remaining and hit a free throw with 21 seconds left to give the Grizzlies the lead for good at 105-104.

Portland (22-15) trailed 87-79 heading into the fourth quarter, but outscored Memphis 25-9 during the first eight minutes to take a 104-96 lead. Brandon Roy led the Blazers with 27 points. Martell Webster, had 21 points, while Andre Miller had 16 points and 10 rebounds.

The Grizzlies shot nearly 52 percent from the field, making 41 of 79 shots, and made 6 of 12 from 3-point range. Marc Gasol added 18 points and 10 rebounds and Rudy Gay tossed in 18 points for Memphis.

Memphis (17-16) have won four in a row and moved above the .500 mark for the first time since the 2005-06 season, the last year the team made the playoffs.

The Grizzlies play the last of three straight road games on Wednesday when they face the Utah Jazz.
