New Survey Shows Australians Prefer Reading To Sex
Published by MoonDog on January 21, 2010
Sex may not be all that important, according to some Australians at least, who have revealed in a survey they prefer reading a good book rather than having sex.
When quizzed by Swedish furniture giant IKEA, one in three Australians said that if given an extra hour in the day, they would prefer to read a book than to have sex.
The results of the online poll show 35 percent of the 1,057 respondents would opt to get stuck into a novel if they had the extra time, while only 20 percent prefer having sex.
But it’s apparently Australian women who secretly yearn for paperbacks over passion, with 45 percent saying they would rather read a good book while just 14 percent would choose to do the wild thing.
Men were more unlikely to snub their lovers for literature, as if that comes as a shock. Twenty-six percent of Australian men said they would rather have at least one hour of sex, while 25 percent favored reading.
