Andi Susanto, a 31-year-old Indonesian man who works as a security guard, lost six of his teeth after the cigarette he was smoking exploded.
Susanto says the cigarette blew up in his mouth while he was riding a motorcycle.
No one knows how the explosion came to be but it is currently going through forensic laboratory tests.
PT Nojorono Tobacco Indonesia, the company that manufactured the cigarettes, claims that they have not put any strange materials in the cigarettes and that this was a first for them.
The cigarette company says they have no plans to recall and said it was the first time this has happened and called it a “weird case.”
PT Nojorono Tobacco Indonesia will pay for Susanto’s medical bills that amount to $534.
Susanto has been smoking since he was a schoolboy and has never experienced any problems before. However, this incident has given him a new perspective and he said he would quit the habit.
