A man in Wisconsin allegedly stole an ambulance with a patient and paramedics still inside it. Police say Nicholas Pontillo of Lake Villa, Illinois took the vehicle for a joyride while drunk.
The ambulance had been parked outside the Tyrol Bason skiing and snowboarding area near Mount Horeb, Wisconsin.
Pontillo reportedly stole the ambulance when it was parked with its emergency brake on and the paramedics were in the back treating a patient.
Police say Pontillo only drove a short distance in a parking lot and was arrested after trying to run off.
Pontillo has been charged with a felony. The patient, who had an injured knee, was transported successfully and is expected to be okay.
