How many of you married a woman that hates sports? In the case of Fox Sports Contributing Writer Kevin Paul, his wife apparently dislikes the thing that makes life worth living for most men.
I’ve known KP for several years, becoming acquainted with him during my very brief stint as a blogger at Fox Sports.
I recall him telling the women that frequented Fox Sports blogs that he bore a resemblance to ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit, which as you might suspect captured the attention of those who produce estrogen in great numbers.
However, a photograph revealed young Kevin looked more like Herb Kirkstreit, a traveling shoe salesman from Ita Bena, Mississippi, temporarily sending his once lofty aspirations of becoming a preeminent sports writer crashing into the nether regions of the abyss.
Thankfully, looks don’t always make for talent, because someone at Fox Sports had the good sense to hire KP as a contributing writer.
With a little cajoling from a dark, mysterious stranger, young Kevin decided to start his own Web site, waiting until he got married to the woman of his dreams – The Wife Hates Sports – to name the site.
Why anyone would marry a woman that hates sports is beyond my realm of understanding.
But for Kevin Paul, the wife hating sports served as the inertia to set aside his career as a shoe salesman and focus all of his energies on the hope of dominating the sports blogosphere.
Sans crayon or the use of an Obama certified teleprompter, Kevin Paul writes about the sports the wife hates and he loves, doing so with passion.
If you read 100 sports Web sites every day, you’ll need to include The Wife Hates Sports among your daily visits.
