Police say they arrested nine people on February 16 for prostitution near several Memphis area elementary schools.
As part of an undercover sting operation, Memphis Police Department reports show that detectives went undercover and made fake deals with eight women and one man prostituting themselves within one-and-a-half miles of six Memphis elementary schools.
Police say the arrests were made near Dunbar Elementary School, Charjean Elementary School, Gordon Elementary School, Hollywood Elementary School, Shannon Elementary School, and Springdale Elementary School.
Police reports indicate the alleged prostitutes ranged in ages from 21 to 55 years-old. According to police, some were offering their services for as little as $10.
Most of the nine are set to be arraigned this week.
