Having never been married I often wonder why wedding dresses are white as opposed to some other color.
To get an answer for my question, I looked into the origins of the white wedding dress.
In my quest for knowledge, I came across this succinct explanation of why wedding dresses are white that should clear up any questions one might have on the subject.
A young boy asked his mother the following question:
“Mom, why are wedding dresses white?” The mother looks at her son and replies, “son, this shows your friends and relatives that your bride is pure.”
The son thanks his mom and goes off to double-check this explanation with his father.
“Dad, why are wedding dresses white?” The father looks at the boy and says, “son, all household appliances come in white.”
