The 2010 SEC football schedule has been set, highlighted by an October 2 showdown when defending BCS national champion Alabama hosts the Florida Gators.
The 2010 SEC football season begins on September 2 with an intriguing non-conference matchup when LSU hosts North Carolina, kicking off ESPN’s Thursday night college football schedule.
Other marquee non-conference games include two major contests on September 11, with Alabama hosting Penn State and Tennessee hosting Oregon.
Other non-conference games of note include Auburn hosting Clemson on September 18 and LSU hosting West Virginia on September 25.
Based on many preseason top 25 polls, LSU appears to have one of the tougher schedules in college football, facing at least six ranked opponents in 2010.
The season culminates on December 4 with the SEC football championship at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
