The Arizona State Sun Devils are the new No.1 team in the latest top 25 poll released by Baseball America on Tuesday.
The Sun Devils (25-1), despite losing their first game of the season, replaced Virginia after the Cavaliers (23-6) lost two of three games against North Carolina State last week.
Arizona State was undefeated and ranked No. 2 in last week’s top 25. Virginia fell to No. 4 in this week’s poll.
Moving up to No. 2 in this week’s poll is Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets (25-3) won four of five games last week.
UCLA moved up three spots in Baseball America’s top 25. The Bruins (23-1), like Arizona State, lost their first game of the season but won three of four games to land at No. 3 in the poll.
LSU is No. 5 in this week’s poll, one of seven SEC teams among Baseball America’s top 25. The Tigers (23-4) won three of four games last week.
Entering this week’s poll was Virginia Tech, the first time the Hokies have been ranked by Baseball America since 1992.
Virginia Tech (20-10) defeated No. 7 Florida State twice on the road last week.
